Exploration of Key Process Parameters and Properties of 40Cr Steel in Ultrasonic Surface Rolling Process

Ultrasonic surface rolling (USRP) is an effective process to improve a workpiece’s fatigue property, in which ultrasonic vibration and static force are applied on the surface. In order clarify strengthening mechanism of critical components optimize USRP parameters, theoretical model was established. Based stress-strain curve 40Cr steel, parameters were formulated. The compressive residual stress field single point impact analyzed by finite element simulation, simulation results validated conducting experimental research. addition, changes properties specimens under different studied experimentally. show that with increase depth, external increases firstly then decreases, maximum −338 MPa. As amplitude 12 μm frequency 20 kHz, 600 N optimal for steel. This study could provide guide key parameters’ selection USRP.
